Backpacking to Indonesia?

Traveling to Indonesia, Where can I get the Information?

These are some websites that I used to get some information about Indonesia.

www.indobackpacker.com
This is a local website for travel freaks. The website is quite useful and informative. It is provided with bilingual language (Indonesian and English). But the best part is not the website itself. It is the forum that makes it very handy. You can joined the forum and do not hesitate to post a question (in English) , most of the people are more than happy to help you. I personally love this site.
www.virtualtourist.com
This is a good website because it is updated quite often by the recent travelers. It is good for getting a complete overview of the places that you want to go. You can get the DO’s and DON’TS, scams information, local customs, nightlife and of course, the highlights.
www.thorntree.com
Yes, it is obvious. Provided by Lonely Planet, this is the universal website for getting traveling information. But I found out that this website is not giving enough up dated information and sometimes it only covers the most traveled places like Bali, Yogyakarta and Jakarta.
www.solotraveler.org/countrybudgetphp?country=Indonesia
Need to know how much a beer in cost in Indonesia? Or how much is the cheapest meal you can get? You can try this website. It’s pretty handy sometimes.
www.passplanet.com
I like this website, although there is only small portion about Indonesia but it is still useful.
6. www.budgetbali.com
This website is focusing on Bali. You can get information about budget places to stay throughout Bali.
Ok, do you need information about transportation? You can try these sites below:
Flights:
www.garudaindonesia.com for higher price with better services
www.merpati.co.id for second better service with less price
www.airasia.com budget airways
www.lionair.co.id another budget airways
www.adamaair.com is also a budget airline
Ferry
www.pelni.co.id for ferry information throughout major harbors in Indonesia
Train
www.infoka.kereta_api.com for train information in Java.

Well, I hope is useful. Have fun, go mad but stay SAFE

Hugs from Down Under.
